Greetings to all our family and friends this summer!

We have survived yet another academic year and have finished school as of June 13th.  We now look forward to a more relaxing summer since Scott will not be going to conduct at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival due to cutbacks, and his class at YVCC was cancelled due to low enrollments.  Jane is not producing her musical play at Ridgeview also because of the District's financial situation, so we both have a little more leisure time than normal.  Hope to be on the Choral C and do some trips.

Kristina and Derek Taylor now live in their first home in Marysville, Washington, and are the proud owners of a lawn, various gardens, weeds, and all that that goes with house ownership.  Kristina is busy at school as she is a member of the negotiating team fodr her teachers association.  She seems interested in it and will be spending time working on that this summer as well as her new house.  Derek is working hard hauling bark and borrowing his father-in-law's pick up truck.  Hopes to play a little golf this summer as well.

We had the pleasure of meeting Hanna Lindberg's parents and doing a short cruise on Puget Sound with them on June 20th.  Hanne is Karl's girlfriend and she lives in Sigtuna, Sweden, and is here for the summer.  Her parents, Anita and Gunnar, are here to visit her as well as her brother who lives in San Francisco.  We all had a great time!

One of the big events for us this summer is the tri-annual Rieschick Reunion which is Jane's father's family.  It is being held in Everett, WA, and Jane is running it with Kristina's help.  It will happen on July 11th at the Inn at Port Gardner.  Jane's folks are coming with her sister and husband from Nebraska, as well as a neice and most of the family from the west coast.  It will be a great day with a bar-b-que at Kristina and Derek's new home that evening, and a Sunday morning cruise aboard the Choral C, weather permitting.

Karl is working hard on his Master af Arts degree in Education through Western Washington University.  He is taking courses at the Seattle campus and will do his student teaching next year and finish up next summer.  He is excited about his career and wants to be a high school English teacher.  He will be a good one!

Scott just finished 33 years at Yakima Valley Community College.  He had a successful year with the YVCC Choir and also the Yakima Symphony Chorus and was invited to conduct the Battle Hymn of the Republic with both choirs and the Yakima Symphony Chorus on the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth.  He was planning to teach this summer but due to low enrollments and budget cuts he will be spending the summer aboard the Choral C and working on the yard.

Best wishes for the summer to all our family and friends.  We hope to see most of you this summer.  We look forward to seeing those of you who are coming to Washington State this summer!
